We were fortunate to have gorgeous weather this weekend, and headed to Avalon, NJ to check out my parents shore house for the first time. It is a little less than a 2 hour drive from our house, so not too bad for a weekend trip. The house is in a great part of town, close to the shops and restaurants, and only 1 1/2 blocks from the beach. I love that you can walk everywhere! It was very relaxing and a nice way to kick off the summer season.
My friend Allison was there with her husband and kids, so we walked down to see them. How bad is it that her daughter is now 2 years old and this was the first time I've seen her in person! In this pic with Adam is Gregg, almost 4 (so tall!) and Emily, 2.

Adam with my mom on the beach ... we couldn't let him sit on his own because he kept putting handfuls of sand in his mouth. He'd make a weird face, drink some water to rinse his mouth out, and do it again! We had to distract him with some goldfish crackers.
