On Tuesday, we went to the 2nd Annual Greg Wolf Fund Dinner in NYC. It was a great night to celebrate Greg's life, see some of his old friends, and raise money for those battling this horrible horrible disease. You can't really see this pic (top) that well but this is me with my sisters and cousins.
Our performer was Erin McCarley - who you probably don't know by name, but you may recognize her songs if you watch Grey's Anatomy. Her music was also featured in the movie, "He's Just Not That Into You." Check out her songs "Pony (It's OK)" and "Love, Save The Empty" on iTunes. She is really talented!
The guy on the left is her keyboardist/beatboxer/back-up singer Kenny. They will be playing in Philly (with Paolo Nutini) on July 25th so we will be going to see them again! Anyone interested in getting on the VIP list with Hus and me, just let me know :)
This is Hus with my Dad's good friend/colleague Harvey. If you were at our wedding, you probably remember him! Hus and I wanted these boxing gloves in the silent auction (ha!) but Harvey was the highest bidder and deserving winner.
The gloves are signed by Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao - not that I am a huge boxing fan - but if you are a sports fan at all, this was just a cool item. We watched the pre-match documentary on HBO's "24/7" as well as the actual fight so sort of had a vested interest.
All in all, the night was absolutely amazing. We heard a touching speech from a family who received some much needed financial assistance from the GWF after losing their 5-yr old daughter to brain cancer. It was meeting people like that that make this all worth the effort.
Another honoree was breast cancer survivor Amy Hughes, who is the mother of Olympic figure skaters Sarah and Emily Hughes. It will be cool to see them skate again this winter!
Thanks to everyone who made it to the dinner and/or gave donations. Every penny is going to cancer research, and to help families in need. Thanks for your support, and helping us to keep Greg's legacy alive.
